Court members are required to wear an all-white or off-white floor length presentation gown and long white gloves. The gown may be tastefully decorated but cannot have print or a train. Strapless gowns are acceptable.

Attire for Court fathers and dates is white tie: black tails, black trousers, black shoes, white shirt, white vest, white tie, white gloves.  Street Tuxedo, located at 2209 Bandywood Dr. in Nashville, offers a discount to the Bal d’Hiver.  You may contact Street Tuxedo at 615-386-0500.  We recommend a fitting one month prior to the event. Boutonnieres will be provided for father and date.

Attire for guests at the Bal d’Hiver is black tie.

  • A formal invitation will be sent in the fall which will include the ticket options for parents and guests of the Court.
  • Court member presentation fees cover cocktails, presentation, dinner and dancing for the Court member and her date.
  • Cocktails, Presentation, Dinner and Dancing is $350 per person.
  • Cocktails and Presentation only 6:00pm to 8:00pm is $200 per person.
  • Late Party Dancing only is $150 per person.
  • The Court member and her date will be seated with her parents and others for a total of ten people per table. Incomplete tables will be filled. If reserving a full table, we ask that all checks for that table be mailed at the same time in the same envelope. Reservations may be completed online at www.nashvillethetas.org.
  • Because this is a private party, please do not encourage your friends to “drop by” and watch the Presentation. We are delighted to have your family and friends celebrate with you, and they may purchase any of the ticket options above. All attendees must be on the guest list and will be asked to present proof of their reservation at the door.
We prefer that all photographs be taken by Helen Burrus to ensure a similar look and style for the program. The photos taken during the Mother-Daughter Reception on May 16 are complimentary.

If you are unable to attend the Mother-Daughter Reception, please email Helen as soon as possible to schedule an appointment for the additional sitting day. Helen has offered the following additional date and times at discounted rates:
July 20th – 12:30 pm until 5:30 pm
Cost $55 (includes sales tax)

She may be reached at hburrusph@gmail.com. Let her know your approximate desired sitting time and she will reply with an exact appointment time. Please wait for her confirmation. She will only be at the studio when she has set appointments. Attire: Appropriate neckline, solid white, or light colors work best.

If July 20th is not convenient, Helen is available for a scheduled sitting at a discounted rate of $100 (includes sales tax).
IMPORTANT NOTE: Helen will be unavailable to take photographs after Friday, August 10th. If using an alternate photographer, photo must be taken with a light to medium solid backdrop. Attire: Appropriate neckline, solid white, or light colors work best. The image must be a black and white jpeg, 300 dpi. Image must be emailed to balchairs@nashvillethetas.org by September 1st.

There will be a mandatory rehearsal for Court members, dates, and fathers on Friday, November 23 at 9:30am in the Ballroom at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. Dress is casual, although Court members might want to rehearse in evening shoes.
A block of guest rooms has been reserved for the Bal d’Hiver at a special rate of $179 per guest room. This block of rooms will be available until Tuesday, October 23, at which time remaining rooms will be released to the public for general sale.
If you are interested in reserving a room or rooms, please call:
