The Eta Phi chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta was chartered at Belmont University on November 6, 2011. The Alumnae were very involved in this colonization process, which wecomed an inaugural class of 122 of Belmont's finest women.
The Nashville Alumnae chapter supports Eta Phi in many ways. Throughout the year, Alumnae volunteer separately of in pairs to host a group of girls at their home for dinner and fellowship (known as the Jane Delony Dinners); this is a great opportunity to get to know some of the girls one-on-one and for them to enjoy a home-cooked meal.
In the fall, Belmont holds its annual Recritment. Recruitment is a great time to get involved with the Eta Phi Chapter. Alumnae are asked to provide food throughout the week for girls to enjoy during their quick breaks between parties. Providing food and drinks for the women keep them in tiptop shape while spending long days together during recruitment. Alumnae are also asked to join Eta Phi for initiation, as well as attend and/or provide food and drink for the reception held afterwards.
In the Spring, Eta Phi hosts their annual Candlelit CASA Dinner and Silent Auction Event where all proceeds benefit CASA of Nashville, Tennessee. Alumnae are encouraged to attend the event with their families, as well as donate any items they may have available for the Silent Auction. This past year the Candlelit CASA Cinner and Silent Auction Event was a huge success, raising of $5,500 for CASA of Nashville, Tennessee!
Also in the spring, the Nashville Alumnae Chapter hosts a senior Send-off Party for the Senior members of Eta Phi. This event is the perfect time to welcome the girls to alumnae status and remind them that Theta is for a Lifetime. The Alumnae and Senior women gather at a local Alumnae's home to share all the great reasons to stay involved in Theta, learn about the Senior women's future plans, and present the girls with a gift.
There are many other opportunities throughout the year for the local Alumnae to get involved with Eta Phi! Look for emails from the Nashville Alumnae Chapter or visit Eta Phi's website below to learn more.
